The Society of Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel

The Society of Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel is part of a world wide religious society founded by a French priest by name of St. Louis Marie de Montfort (1673-1716) in France in the early years of 18th century. It became an autonomous society in 1842. Ever since, it has been a pioneer in the field of general education, vocational education and the education of the deaf and blind.
 

Today, the brothers of St. Gabriel work in 31 countries in all the continents of the world. The brothers arrived in India in 1903. After a century, there are six provinces in India institutions. These institutions provide general and vocational education, training for the deaf, the blind, the aged and the orthopedically handicapped, fighting for the rights and developed of tribals, dalits and urban poor and creating harmony and peace among religious and social groups. The brothers are guided by the motto of its founder St. Louis Marie de Montfort: God Alone.
